Error handling
Every API error code and what to do about it.
Errors are shown as inverted blocks (light on dark in Night, dark on light in Day) with the code, a sentence and a recovery action. Data that already loaded stays visible.

INVALID_ADDRESS | 400 | The value is not a 0x-prefixed 20-byte hex address. | Check the address for typos. It must be 0x followed by exactly 40 hex characters. |
INVALID_INPUT | 400 | The request was rejected by server-side validation. | Review the highlighted fields and the details below, then try again. |
NOT_A_CONTRACT | 404 | There is no runtime bytecode at this address at the latest block. | It may be an externally owned account or not deployed yet. Verify the address on the explorer. |
NOT_FOUND | 404 | The requested resource (for example a transaction) does not exist on Robinhood Chain mainnet. | Check that the hash is from chain 4663 and that the transaction has been mined. |
METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED | 405 | The API does not accept this HTTP method on this route. | This is a client bug. Reload the page; if it persists, report it. |
PAYLOAD_TOO_LARGE | 413 | The request exceeds ENTROPY's size limits. | Reduce the calldata or number of logs and try again. |
RATE_LIMITED | 429 | Too many requests from this client in a short period. | Wait for the retry window shown below, then try again. |
INTERNAL | 500 | ENTROPY failed to process the request. | Try again. If the problem persists, it is a bug on our side. |
RPC_UNAVAILABLE | 502 | The Robinhood Chain RPC endpoint did not respond or returned an error. | The public RPC is rate-limited. Retry shortly; operators can configure ENTROPY_RPC_URL. |
UPSTREAM_UNAVAILABLE | 502 | A required external service (explorer or signature database) is unreachable. | Retry later. Blockscout is intermittently behind a bot challenge that ENTROPY does not bypass. |
CHAIN_MISMATCH | 503 | The configured RPC does not report chain id 4663. ENTROPY refuses to serve other networks. | Operators: point ENTROPY_RPC_URL at a Robinhood Chain mainnet endpoint. |
UPSTREAM_TIMEOUT | 504 | An external call exceeded its time budget. | Retry. Large contracts and busy RPCs can take longer on the first lookup. |

A Read that reverts, has invalid arguments, hits an RPC failure, or cannot be decoded returns a result with the reason, the revert data and any decoded revert (Error(string), Panic(uint256) or a custom error).
